Denver Art Museum has an exhibit called Dior: From Paris to the World right now and it's really well done. Each space has its own style, lighting, and music. I spent hours going through the exhibit. One dress I was excited to see in person is this dress, the Palladium Dress from Dior's 1992 collection. It served as the main inspiration for Sailor Moon's Princess Serenity dress. In fact the creator Naoko Takeuchi based many of the outfits or drawings on fashion pieces. There is less than a month left in the exhibit. I highly recommend that you check it out. Museum Monday is
I miss sitting around a roaring fireplace in the winter. So at the office I put a Yule Log on one of my monitors throughout the holiday season. In 2015, I only did Darth Vader, but last year I decided to switch it out to see if anyone noticed (they did). Here are ones I'm planning to rotate through this season: Darth Vader You may be thinking, WTF? But hear me out! A Vader Yule Log is festive and seasonally appropriate. With The Last Jedi coming out this December, the Vader Yule Log will help put you in the right
I don't know how many times I heard the joke about Nic Cage trying to steal the Declaration of Independence while touring the National Archives. Every Friday Lili shares her favorite photography & the stories behind the photos.

In 2014 we were determined to have a perfect view of the Coronado's Independence Day Parade. The year before we woke up too late, and had to stand at a corner, craning to see. So my father had gotten up early, and staked out premo places outside of our hotel so we could see the parade in comfort. We had picked up beach chairs the day before, had a cooler of food, blankets, and ample sunscreen. We were prepared! And it was a perfect spot! We watched as floats and military bands went by. But after about half an hour, we
“A towel, [The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy] says, is about the most massively useful thing an interstellar hitchhiker can have. Partly it has great practical value. You can wrap it around you for warmth as you bound across the cold moons of Jaglan Beta; you can lie on it on the brilliant marble-sanded beaches of Santraginus V, inhaling the heady sea vapors; you can sleep under it beneath the stars which shine so redly on the desert world of Kakrafoon; use it to sail a miniraft down the slow heavy River Moth; wet it for use in hand-to-hand-combat; wrap
Tomorrow is Free Comic Book Day. So for today's Photo Friday I wanted to share a piece of comic history. This is Tales of Suspense #39. It is the first appearance of Iron Man. And its worth a good amount of money. So how did I come by it to take a photo? My parents were going through some of my dad's old comic books. They were going to donate or throw them out, but then remembered I was into comics so they asked me to come over and look at them. As I went through poorly maintained super man
Source “Mars is a barren wasteland and I am completely alone here. I already knew that, of course. But there’s a difference between knowing it and really experiencing it.” -Mark Watney in The Martian by Andy Weir Egyptian Desert as seen from a Nile cruise. I remember the days before I had my Kindle. Stacks of books taking up space in my bags. I could easily go through 5-7 books per trip. And god help me if I had only brought a few in a series...and it finished on a cliffhanger! I remember many frustrating trips
