I miss sitting around a roaring fireplace in the winter. So at the office I put a Yule Log on one of my monitors throughout the holiday season. In 2015, I only did Darth Vader, but last year I decided to switch it out to see if anyone noticed (they did). Here are ones I’m planning to rotate through this season:

Darth Vader

You may be thinking, WTF? But hear me out! A Vader Yule Log is festive and seasonally appropriate. With The Last Jedi coming out this December, the Vader Yule Log will help put you in the right mood. Plus it shows that darkness can be redeemed (and make good kindling).

Lil Bub 2013

If you don’t know Lil Bub, she’s one of those famous internet cats. She has a condition that makes her tongue stick out. I’m a fan of the 2013 version (yes there are more!) because she is close to the screen, purrs, and her owner’s disembodied arm reaches out occasionally to pet her!

Owl Yule Log

I love this cute owl! It gives me a very Hogwarts Christmas feel. It also opened up a rabbit hole for me to look into random animal Yule Logs!

Hallmark Yule Logs

Wanting a cat and a dog in your Yule Log? The yearly Yule Logs that Hallmark puts out are cute and well done!

Lil Bub 2015

I love this Yule Log as it solves the issue of “How do we get the animals back in the frame.” This video? Lil Bub just POOFs back onto the couch. It’s adorable.

Bulldog Yule Log

This is a new one I found for this year. We have some Bulldog lovers in the office, so it seems fitting!

Dalmatian & Horse Yule Log

This is another new one I found for this year, so it will get thrown into the mix.

Sleepy Dog Yule Log

I kind of want to join him!

BB8

Also to get in the spirit for The Last Jedi!

Generic Holiday Yule Logs

I generally gravitate towards niche Yule Logs because there are so many generic ones to choose from, but here are some ones that look good:

I also sometimes have a secondary Yule Log in the background to help give more crackling and roaring sound effects:

Ones I haven’t tried yet are ones with a fireplace and snowfall:

Rejected

I prefer Yule Logs with the sounds of cracking flames instead of Christmas music. If I wanted Christmas music I’d just play that. In addition to that requirement, these are the ones that I WONT be playing, but list them here in for your viewing pleasure:

  • Jesus with Dog Yule Log – I find this hilarious, but possibly in poor taste at work. (Yes Burning Vader is fine, this is questionable. haha)
  • Marvel Homes – A playlist of Marvel character’s homes, but sadly some music does play.
  • Nick Offerman – as hilarious as it sounds, I don’t want a guy staring at me for hours.
  • Exploading Terry Crews Old Spice – Funny, but not relaxing.
  • Poo Log – This Deadpool Yule Log has music, hard pass for me, but maybe it will give you Christmas cheer.
  • Outlander Log – I love the pups in this, but could do without the music. Might mute this one.
  • Property Brothers – Why on earth was this made?
  • Dumpster Fire – You want to forget about 2017, not be reminded of it.
  • Krispy Cream Holiglazer – Don’t want fire but love sugary donuts, here you go!

Final Thoughts:

Sadly YouTube doesn’t allow looping of their videos, so to not get interrupted I suggest opening the video links into a looping website. Simply google “Loop YouTube Video” and choose one!
