Another whirlwind month done! First up I went to CU's Colorado Shakespeare Festival to see Love's Labor Lost. We had a lovely picnic before the show, and it was an interesting play I hadn't seen before. Picnic by flute. A post shared by Lili (@liliontheloose) on Jun 9, 2018 at 6:03pm PDT Then I went to the Denver Museum of Nature and Science to see the Dead Sea Scrolls exhibit. This was hands down the most beautiful and horribly laid out museum exhibit I've ever been to. Small objects in tight single person view windows. Lots of text only at 5.5 foot

May 2018 Recap

By |June 9th, 2018|Categories: Blog Recaps and Roundups|Tags: , , , , , , , , , |0 Comments

Last month was a whirlwind of culture and travel, so this month I was pretty much just recovering. About the most interesting thing I did was go to a Rockies game with my co-workers. I was supposed to go to a "Mr. Holland's Opus" style retirement party for my middle school band director (in fact I'd been practicing clarinet for 2 months) but I became really sick in May and was out of commission for weeks. :( Work rockies game!! The month of April was a month of Culture for me. I visited museums, saw plays, and laughed along with comedians. So let's dig in on the best memories! Early in the month I saw Degas: A Passion for Perfection at the Denver Art Museum with a wonderful friend and her daughter. It was an interesting exhibit showing Degas' contemporaries and influencers in relation to Degas' own work. From horses, to naked ladies, to the famous ballet dancers. Source Then I saw the Broadway version of Aladdin. I've seen a few different Disney plays some good (Lion King)

March 2018 Recap

Travel This month was the month of opposite travel: Pacific Ocean/Atlantic Ocean, Pleasure/Business Trip, Hot/Cold. At the beginning of the month I went to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico for a beach break! And then at the end of the month I went to Boston, MA for a quick business trip! Puerto Vallarta This was an unplanned last minute trip. My mother was going to go to PV again with my aunt, but my aunt backed out. So my mother invited me to come, and then my aunt figured things out so she could come! I've never traveled with the two of them

February 2018 Recap

By |March 1st, 2018|Categories: Blog Recaps and Roundups|Tags: , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , |0 Comments

So... I may have gone a little overboard this month. I decided I wanted to do more this year. See more museum exhibits, go to more events, things like that. So I spent the better part of a morning like most people in Denver trying to get Hamilton tickets...and failing. So instead I booked the following activities for this year: Aladdin Book of Mormon Degas at the DAM Dead Sea Scrolls at DMNS Lewis Black Steve Martin & Martin Short Oh and I booked a trip to LA to see the King Tut exhibit (in addition to numerous other famous

Triceratops ate too much Birthday Cake

Source Another year older! Another year to post dinosaur photos! This one has a funny backstory to it. The artist was imagining Jurassic Park as a children's book, and did this drawing to show why it had a tummy ache! Too much birthday cake! Also, really relevant this year, as my weight loss this month has been a bit derailed by birthday treats. Ah well next month I'll get back to it!

January 2018 Recap

By |February 1st, 2018|Categories: Blog Recaps and Roundups|Tags: , , , , , , , , |0 Comments

January was the completion of a major work project, so didn't do much outside of that. We did have a work kickoff, which everyone left a little worse for wear (drinking + the death flu went through the office. As well as night I got locked out of my house as I left my keys at the office so had to sleep at a co-worker's house.) Tessa this month fell in love with a Porg stuffed animal that makes noise, and was sad when I took it away from her. I also got to see the National Stock Show parade

I'm a bit devastated to learn that the best 9 doesn't take into account multi-photo Instagram posts, so some of my best photos aren't represented here. Alas, that means this wall leans heavily to Halloween with just one dog and travel photo! Be sure to check out more here and to follow me!

2017 Year in Review

2017 was a busy year for me. I got in 4 trips, 175 blog posts, and lots and lots of Netflix. Here are my highlights for the year: Travel All my trips this year were really last minute (at least to me) trips. I booked my Costa Rica/Panama trip about 2 months in advance, my LA/Anaheim/Irvine trip was very quick, same with Charlotte, and Santa Fe, NM I only planned one activity. So it was a weird non-planned year for travel. I'd never thought I'd... Travel to 3 different places, on different trips, in one month. In December I had

December 2017 Recap

December was a really weird and busy month for me. I had two business trips and a personal trip, making me travel all over the country. And it was a busy month for work, which is unusual this time of year. So I didn't get into the full Christmas spirit that I usually do. I did manage to put up and light my tree, but lost out of time and energy to decorate it besides a few ornaments I got this month during my travels. Travel When I first started doing these recaps I based it on the variety of
