Recipe: Sausage & Vegetable Soup

I wanted to cook with fresh veggies including ones I've never cooked with before like Pearl Onions and Bell Peppers. So here is my delicious spur of the moment Sausage and Veggie Soup! In 2014 we were determined to have a perfect view of the Coronado's Independence Day Parade. The year before we woke up too late, and had to stand at a corner, craning to see.  So my father had gotten up early, and staked out premo places outside of our hotel so we could see the parade in comfort. June 2016 Recap

I mostly stuck to local activities this month.  I went and saw the broadway show Beauty and the Beast. The costumes and songs were well done, but the jokes were a bit jarring. I forgot that it was mostly aimed at children, so the jokes had to be explained very clearly so the kids could get it. But it was still fun. I also went to the Denver Flea with my friend Roma. We went last year, but this year it was so much bigger! It was a hot but fun day. I ended up getting some Hibiscus drink mixer and tangerine-rosemary lotion.

Hypaethral Hall of Trajan’s Kiosk

Trajan's Kiosk is a hypaethral temple (no roof) found at Philae in Egypt. Trajan was a Roman Emperor best known for having extended the Roman Empire to its largest area. Part of the newly acquired area was Egypt.  Rome assimilated into the local culture and created hybrid architecture temples. This was one of them. It is airy and bright with beautiful different capitals on top of each column. And with a view right on the water. It was sometimes nicknamed "The Pharaoh's Bed".
