Let's see. Two posts on The Fray, photos from years ago. 5 Posts around my ill fated trip to Jordan. Two around Spa days. And one on my lovely trip to the BVIs. It was a good and weird year. Here is hoping my wrist heals from surgery and my injury from Jordan so I can get back out there.
I attended the 12.1.18 Take Note Colorado The Fray concert at The Ogden Theater. I couldn't see Isaac for most of the show as I was in a weird place where his piano blocked my view, but he kindly gave me some photo opportunities towards the end of the show. I attended the 12.1.18 Take Note Colorado The Fray concert at The Ogden Theater and managed to get a front row spot even though I was by myself and didn't go as early as I used to. I didn't get my normal spot, instead, I was closer to guitarist/singer Joe King. I don't have a ton of photos of Joe, so I enjoyed playing with the light timing to get this shot of him singing. 2018 was a Year of Culture for me: 10 museums (California Science Center, LA Natural History Museum, La Brea Tar Pits, The Getty, The Getty Villa, The Last Bookstore, Next Stage Gallery, Denver Art Museum x2, Denver Museum of Nature and Science x2, Molly Brown's House) 5 plays (Hamilton, Aladdin, Love's Labour's Lost, Book of Mormon, White Christmas) 4 trips (Puerto Vallarta, Boston, Los Angeles, Orlando) 3 concerts (Dandy Warhols, The Fray, Scottish/Highland Bands) 3 theme parks (Magic Kingdom, Universal Studios, Universal Islands of Adventure) 2 comedy shows (Lewis Black, Steve Martin & Martin Short) 2 ghost tours (Brown Palace,
This was a weird month. I didn't feel very Christmasy even though I did a lot of Holiday things. I think it was the weather. We didn't get snow until December 31st. Rocker Santa Isaac Joe Dave This month I went to a The Fray concert. I went alone for the first time, but still managed to get front row, but a little left than center that I would normally get. I had so much fun! Sadly didn't score a setlist this time. Tessa turned 10 years old! How is that possible!
I tried to keep the month more low key. I added more automated lights and plus to my smart home setup and then mostly started experimenting with watercolor paints (I'm pretty bad at the moment.) I also got this amazing Hogwarts light up Christmas Sweater: View this post on Instagram Geeking out over my new Christmas Sweater! A Hogwarts one with lights! I've gone to some four dozen The Fray shows starting all the way before they were signed with Epic and were considering quitting. I've enjoyed being their unofficial fan photographer, and organizer of the first The Fray fansite (which at some point I'll get around to putting it back online.) In May 2011, I saw a small concert at Boulder's The Fox Theater for two little known bands. But I knew they were a code-word for The Fray! So gathering up my friends we scored front row and I got this great photo of Isaac Slade singing his heart out on top
