Fall is my favorite season. Its also Tessa's as she loves to eat leaves:   View this post on Instagram   It's going to snow tomorrow so made sure Tessa got to do her favorite fall activity: leaf eating. A post shared by Lili (@liliontheloose) on Oct 13, 2018 at 3:07pm PDT What's new this month is that I discovered Bullet Journaling this month. Essentially it's using a journal as a productivity tool with some art thrown in. Of course, that meant many trips to craft stores, and discovering AliExpress (and buying way too many .10 stickers and washi tape.)

Travel Missteps: The Determined Thief of Edinburgh

By |July 17th, 2017|Categories: Travel, Travel Missteps|Tags: , , , , , , , , , , |0 Comments

Source I've written before before how my family used the "Hop on / Hop Off" busses in England to get around the cities a lot. But one of our last times on those sightseeing busses turned out to be the most eventful. As per usual, we got to the designated starting point early and claimed seats at the top. We had a wide choice of seats, the only other person on the top deck was two older women sitting together. I decided to sit halfway back, mainly because at this point in a 2 week trip I

Source Do you know what that is? No? Consider yourself lucky. What those are, are little styrofoam balls called Micro-Beads and they are found in a lot of those travel neck pillows that people have. I discovered what was inside mine the hard way on a tour of Italy. I think it was halfway through the trip, somewhere around Florence or Tuscany when it happened. I remember my black neck pillow had fallen to the floor and gotten stuck. I was late getting off the bus, so I tugged as hard as I could, and it still wasn't

Local Haunts: Banjo Billy’s Ghost Bus

By |October 11th, 2016|Categories: Attractions & Sights, Local, Travel|Tags: , , , , , , , , , , |0 Comments

Source: Vince Darcangelo Another one of my Halloween traditions is to take Banjo Billy's Ghost Tour in Boulder. This is all about the experience. The bus is made of wood, and inside are an eclectic mix of seats. (While the saw-horse is a novelty, it is not comfy enough to sit in on the entire ride.)  The decor is also very mixed with christmas lights, buttons, tassels, disco balls, and other kitschy decorations hot glued here and there. The horn has a mixture of sounds from a cat-call like whistle to the sound of a barking dog.

Consider this my "Throwback Thursday". I'm slowly moving over posts from my travelpod blog, this is one I did breaking down my costs for a 4 day trip to Las Vegas, NV in April 2011 for a friend's bachelorette party.   Las Vegas at Night Originally I wanted to go to Las Vegas after seeing deals on bookit.com but when we actually were ready to book, they didn't seem to have the best deals. I was lucky in the fact that my friend Heather has arranged travel for government agencies and quickly and easily helped plan a good deal

Travel Missteps: Round and Round We Go

By |February 3rd, 2014|Categories: Travel, Travel Missteps|Tags: , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , |0 Comments

In 2002, my family and I went on our second overseas trip. This time backpacking it through England and Scotland. We had utilized the hop on and off again buses frequently throughout our trip. In London it helped to orientate us, and we learned a lot of the history. When we arrived early to Bath our bed and breakfast wouldn't let us in yet. So with all of our luggage we bought a day’s ticket for the hop on and off again bus. It was the slow season, so no one else was aboard, so we put our luggage on
