This was a weird month. I didn’t feel very Christmasy even though I did a lot of Holiday things. I think it was the weather. We didn’t get snow until December 31st.
This month I went to a The Fray concert. I went alone for the first time, but still managed to get front row, but a little left than center that I would normally get. I had so much fun! Sadly didn’t score a setlist this time.
Tessa turned 10 years old! How is that possible! She is still like a puppy!
I saw White Christmas the play. I actually didn’t like it that much. They made a bunch of changes that made sense, but turned it more into a comedy than I was hoping for. Ah well the final numbers and the faux snow was amazing.
I badly sprained my ankle while moving furniture. (Side note, I now have new Living Room furniture!) This happened later in the month and pretty much took me out of the game for a few weeks.
I went with my dad to our first NFL / Denver Bronco’s football game! I had been to a few partial games at CU Boulder and US AFA but never to a full game and never to a NFL game. I really enjoyed it even though we lost.

Audio Books
I started listening to the Harry Potter books on tape, sadly not the Stephen Fry version. It’s comforting to listen to before going to bed.
Watchlist
I loved this Home Alone Google Home Ad:
Look at how well they matched the original:
TV
I continued watching The Last Kingdom for the first half of the month before switching to the delightful The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel. Only problem, I somehow started with season 2, and got to episode 3 before realizing my mistake. But its a very funny show.
For some reason I love British Panel Shows, and so was delighted with Netflix’s new show The Fix. I also watched the Winter Solstice episode of the new Sabrina and it was delightfully dark.
On Christmas I watched Jack Ryan with my parents (they don’t have Amazon Prime). It was…not very festive but I enjoyed it.
On NYE I randomly decided to watch Doctor Who from River Song’s Point of View, which I had never done before.
Movies
I watched a lot of Hallmark Christmas movies (but not as much as last year). Not as much as last year, but did enjoy a few of them. I also saw Christmas with the Kranks this year. I had avoided it in the past as the idea of “Skipping Christmas” and breaking holiday traditions sounded just depressing when this movie first came out…but I get it now. This year I did a pared down Christmas and enjoyed the few decorations I put up instead of going all out.
One Hallmark movie I talked crap about before I saw it was Mingle All the Way, but ended up being one of my favorite Hallmark Movies this season.
I watched In Bruges because someone on Reddit said it was “a great comedy”. It’s not. It’s dark as fuck. I still laughed.
I saw Aquaman in theaters, and really enjoyed it. I then finally sat down and watched Justice League which was pretty meh. I am looking forward to more solo Wonder Woman and Aquaman movies though.
What’s Next
I don’t have any big plans in January. So will likely focus on whatever my “New Year Resolutions” are.
