Patterns in the Glass
For some reason I really love the shape of this glass dome in the Palazzos's atrium in Las Vegas. Every Friday Lili shares her favorite photography & the stories behind the photos.

I had been meaning to see the Dinosaur Exhibit at the Denver Zoo for months. But never made it. So when I realized it was closing after Halloween I got myself in gear! I visited it at night, during the Dinos After Dark Halloween lights event. I'd highly recommend seeing it during this event. Throughout the zoo there are moving dinosaurs lit up with multi-colored lights. Some even make sounds! Here are some of my favorite photos: Closest thing to a Triceratops a Diabloceratops A volcano! I was amused at this one in front of "Bird World", its a utahraptor.
To be honest, I don't remember why I bought the dress. I hate dresses. I hate showing my legs and I hate the fancy shoes that go with it. But I probably bought it because when I need a dress, I never have one. But I do remember haphazardly throwing it in my luggage as the last item in. I was heading to Las Vegas for my best friend Heather's mini bachelorette party. And while I knew we wouldn't be clubbing, I worried that my jeans+T-shirt fashion wouldn't be appropriate. But I wasn't sure. Heather and I often had similar styles.

Tuesday was "Talk Like A Pirate Day", and it reminded me of last year meeting the infamous pirate: Captain Jack Sparrow. He's an elusive character at Disney World's Magic Kingdom. You cannot meet him during the day, but often can see him during Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party. (Hence why I'm dressed as a cat.) He's actually the first character I met, and it happened very quickly. I had just gotten off the Pirates of the Caribbean ride, to see a line of people. It wasn't very long, so I decided to hop in the line, not really knowing
This 37" x 25" pocket of over 100 aquamarine and other crystals is called Diane's Pocket and was discovered in 2004 near the summit of Mount Antero. It is the largest aquamarine find in North America, discovered by amateur Steve Brancato. It's on permanent display at the Denver Museum of Nature and Science. Museum Monday is an every other week series about museum news, objects, and reviews.
I got this beautiful watercolor at Paul Rever Mall, part of the freedom trail and just outside of the Old North Church where Paul Rever hanged his two lanterns in warning. This park was full of crunchy fall leaves that I enjoyed jumping on, so I was happy to see this artist selling this painting to remind me of being in Boston in the fall. I loved watching the waves crash into this little cliff valley near Pigeon Point. Every Friday Lili shares her favorite photography & the stories behind the photos.
When I was little I collected fossils. One that I've always wanted was a trilobite, and when I was on a work trip to Vegas last year I found a going out of business gem and mineral shop and got a good deal on this little one. Have you ever been to a theme park and witnessed a malfunction or accident? Have you ever seen 3 in one day? I have. I don't really know how we ended up at Dollywood. We had traveled cross country for my sister's Odyssey of the Mind competition in Tennessee and on the way back decided to take it slow. I was allowed to pick the hotel we stopped at, and I picked one with a mini water park near Pigeon Forge. This is also near where Dollywood, Dolly Parton's theme park is, and so my parents suggested we go for
