To be honest, I don’t remember why I bought the dress. I hate dresses. I hate showing my legs and I hate the fancy shoes that go with it. But I probably bought it because when I need a dress, I never have one. But I do remember haphazardly throwing it in my luggage as the last item in. I was heading to Las Vegas for my best friend Heather’s mini bachelorette party. And while I knew we wouldn’t be clubbing, I worried that my jeans+T-shirt fashion wouldn’t be appropriate. But I wasn’t sure. Heather and I often had similar styles. Would she bring a dress? AND expect to wear it? Yes. Yes, she did.

It was funny, I wasn’t even sure the dress would fit. (It did.) And I wasn’t sure if it would be appropriate, it showed a lot of chest area. (It was fine…and got us some free drinks.) And that is how I ended up living in the same dress for over 3 days.

And although it was cold that April, a “Girl’s Trip to Las Vegas” didn’t seem that special without the dress. I had fun wandering through restaurants and casinos dressed up with Heather. I wish I had thought of it sooner though, I could have saved a lot of unnecessary packing by just wearing that one outfit the entire weekend!

That trip changed my view of dresses. I went from hating them, to viewing them as a sometimes necessary evil. On subsequent Vegas trips, I have brought my dresses, in fact my last trip I brought 2 (one with pockets!)
