So apparently along with losing weight, not eating Wheat has given me tons of energy. I re-organized my entire house. Let me say that again. I re-organized my entire house! When my sister moved out 2 years ago, I never really put anything back into the spare room. (Partially because I couldn't move furniture by myself.) But now? I HAVE MY OFFICE BACK! When I got this place, I wanted a 2nd bedroom for a massive 11 foot desk for work/craft/tv space. I also wanted my library organized, and my lego closet back. It looks amazing! (Although my dog is

Fall is my favorite season! Here are some reasons why! It's time to go back to Hogwarts! And this year was the year of "19 Years Later..." Halloween Decorating can start! I was excited that Dino Skeletons are big this year. (Tessa is not a fan.) And it's soup weather! (Or at least it should be. It was 80 degrees when we went to go get ramen.) And its the best time for farmer's markets and visiting my college town of Boulder. Recommended Reading Lili on the Loose This month I recalled some of 2016's fall memories like this beautiful fall

What to do in Colorado for Fall & Halloween Events

By |October 5th, 2017|Categories: Events, Local, Travel|Tags: , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , |0 Comments

I love fall - that moment before the weather turns wintery cold, crunchy golden-red leaves to jump in, harvest foods and cider, and Halloween and haunted houses! So for work I did a lunch-n-learn where I shared the best fall events people should know about! I started with some local haunted trivia (such as Linger originally being a Mortuary, the Stanley Hotel being an inspiration for the Shining, and that my work's office use to be a paper company with an obligatory joke about Dunder Mifflin.) We then swapped stories about local haunts! It was a lot of fun. So I wanted

Souvenir Saturday: Fall in Boston

By |September 16th, 2017|Categories: Souvenirs, Travel|Tags: , , , , , , , , , |0 Comments

I got this beautiful watercolor at Paul Rever Mall, part of the freedom trail and just outside of the Old North Church where Paul Rever hanged his two lanterns in warning. This park was full of crunchy fall leaves that I enjoyed jumping on, so I was happy to see this artist selling this painting to remind me of being in Boston in the fall. Souvenir Saturday is an every-other week series on the items that represent travel memories.

Fall Colours – Yellow

By my old condo, there was a ditch with many trees. The wind would blow all the leaves from the neighborhood into this ditch, and it would reach 3 feet high in some places. It was one of my favorite places during the fall. Huge yellow leaves up above, crunchy brown ones below. I enjoyed kicking and jumping in the leaves, while my dog loved jumping and eating the leaves. Seriously, she eats them up like potato chips. Every Friday Lili shares her favorite photography & the stories behind the photos.

Egypt Travelogue: Day 2 – Sick in Frankfurt

This is my travel diary of my trip to Egypt. It contains in detail my memories of what I did and saw.  Friday October 23, 2015 Egypt: Day 2 - Sick in Frankfurt I arrived in Frankfurt a little after 11 AM. Feeling very sick, my dream of wandering the city was slowly dying. I exited, and found myself in Z Terminal. I knew that the bag holding station was outside Terminal A. But more importantly I knew there was supposed to be an attached hotel at Terminal A. I figured instead of paying to leave my bags at the bag check,

Travel Missteps: Like a Turtle

By |January 4th, 2016|Categories: Travel, Travel Missteps|Tags: , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , |0 Comments

Saying goodbyes to the friends you’ve made while traveling is one of the hardest things to do. In 2004 I was part of the Sister Cities exchange program and stayed in Chino, Nagano Prefecture, Japan. I made great friends and had a great time. But getting up early to say our goodbyes before heading out on a 37 hour travel day was hard. There were lots of hugs, tears, and photos. And then...there were a lot of times I just keeled over. Farewell to Kana, note the 3 bags on my person and the 4 bags on the ground.

Travel Missteps: Following the Fall Leaves on the Freedom Trail

One of the best sounds in life is that crisp crunch sound when stepping on fall leaves. At my old condo, the wind would blow all the leaves in this grassy ditch behind the parking lot. The pile would get huge, up to my waist. My dog would join me as I jumped and kicked up the leaves. Then again, my dog’s main goal was to eat as many fall leaves as she cool, like they were potato chips. I still miss that home just for those fall leaves. So when I had just a single brief afternoon in Boston
