Museum Monday: Amargasaurus

By |June 17th, 2019|Categories: Dinosaurs, Museums, Travel|Tags: , , , , , , , , , , |0 Comments

This Amargasaurus fossil is really fascinating. Known from only one skeleton that was mostly complete, it has a unique feature of two parallel rows of tall spines down its body. A long time ago people thought that these spines supported a sail, but now it is thought they were defensive structures that jutted out of the body. One part that was missing was most of the skull, so this is an assumption of what it looked like. Museum Monday is an every other week series about museum news, objects, and reviews.

Museum Monday: Design of Star Wars Costumes

By |April 22nd, 2019|Categories: Museums, Travel|Tags: , , , , , , , , , , , , |0 Comments

A few years ago the Denver Art Museum had a great exhibit called Star Wars: The Power of Costumes. In honor of the upcoming Star Wars Day I wanted to share some of the great designs and drawings that were displayed. My top favorite was this design of a shell like hairstyle for Padme. More early Padme designs, I like the bottom one of the one below, based on a victorian dress. This design was actually created by George Lucas himself, and the museum did a good job showcasing the materials used to make the costumes. Another unused design, this proves

February 2019 Recap

By |March 1st, 2019|Categories: Blog Recaps and Roundups|Tags: , , , , , , , , |0 Comments

This month I dealt with some really bad Carpal Tunnel symptoms. I decided to get an expensive keyboard and mouse and that helped a lot. I also started to create Travel Scrapbooks with all of the stuff I've collected from my trips. Many, many, trips to the stationery stores and I finally had all the supplies to start the project. Lastly, this is my birthday month! So I decided to go to the Denver Aquarium for the day! Museum Monday: Dior’s Palladium Dress

Denver Art Museum has an exhibit called Dior: From Paris to the World right now and it's really well done. Each space has its own style, lighting, and music. I spent hours going through the exhibit. One dress I was excited to see in person is this dress, the Palladium Dress from Dior's 1992 collection. It served as the main inspiration for Sailor Moon's Princess Serenity dress. In fact the creator Naoko Takeuchi based many of the outfits or drawings on fashion pieces. There is less than a month left in the exhibit. I highly recommend that you check it out. Museum Monday is

Museum Monday: Giganotosaurus

One of the largest carnivores, matching T-Rex for size is the Giganotosaurus. He was easily the largest fossil at this exhibit a few years ago at the Denver Museum. Museum Monday is an every other week series about museum news, objects, and reviews.

Isaac Slade of The Fray at Sing it to Me Santa / Take Note Colorado

By |January 18th, 2019|Categories: Photography|Tags: , , , , , , , , , , , , |0 Comments

I attended the 12.1.18 Take Note Colorado The Fray concert at The Ogden Theater. I couldn't see Isaac for most of the show as I was in a weird place where his piano blocked my view, but he kindly gave me some photo opportunities towards the end of the show. Surprisingly, my dog Tessa didn't make the cut, but a co-worker's cute puppy did. The rest are a nice mix of my interests: Halloween, Museums, Weird Light Up Sweaters, Comedy Shows, and my first ever NFL game! Be sure to check out more here and to follow me!

Joe King of The Fray in Orange Light

I attended the 12.1.18 Take Note Colorado The Fray concert at The Ogden Theater and managed to get a front row spot even though I was by myself and didn't go as early as I used to. I didn't get my normal spot, instead, I was closer to guitarist/singer Joe King.  I don't have a ton of photos of Joe, so I enjoyed playing with the light timing to get this shot of him singing.
