I didn’t really do anything in May other than get ready for my June Panama trip. So here is a random dream I had:

I had one of those stress-travel dreams (except I don’t get that stressed, it’s mostly, “wow this is not going well” plus it was all dreamland like where it wasn’t like any normal trip.) At some point we finally board the plane. The guy next to me is telling me about his awesome bag (I had been IRL looking at bags before going to bed) he then points to this thing on top of his bag.
This is awesome. It’s an AWCT (pronounced AWWW CAT). I listen attentively as he says:
“It’s an Alternative Windowless Cat Transport! It’s great!”
Me: So….a box….
And the absurdity of it made me wake up, which is why I remember it.

And it was the month of the insane hail, here is what it looked like outside of my office:

The great hailstorm.

Lili on the Loose

May has always been a Star Wars filled month, so this year was no different. My favorite Star Wars post this month were:

I also enjoyed sharing two realizations I had, the first making sure you don’t push yourself and Shop Till You Drop, and the other was my realization of Getting Over Eating Alone.

And in the never-ending Egypt posts, I love this photo from Philae Temple and the story of giving my godson’s reaction of getting his gift from Egypt.

Other Blogs

I was dreaming of my upcoming Panama trip with these great beach articles: Perfect Greek Islands for your first trip to Greece, great Caymans Islands photos, and this Nat Geo of an island in Panama I was going to visit.

I’m also dreaming of a Europe trip sometime in the next few years, so really enjoyed these articles about Germany, Rome, Venice, and Barcelona.

Beyond that, I loved Adventurous Kate’s 25 things she learned the hard way, this article on other things to see in Peta, Jordan, and this list of things you have to do in Denver before you die.

I love it when XKCD just gets me. This Photo Management comic and Machine Learning are spot on!

Watchlist

TV

I love Lucifer (a show about the Devil living in LA, using his powers to punish evildoers while working as a police consultant) and it returned this month. Its a great show, and treated us with this meta song:

I also binged watch a bunch of murder mysteries this month including Netflix’s The Keepers, Miss Fisher’s Murder Mysterious (and sadly didn’t realize I binged to the point there are no more episodes!), and started watching Death in Paradise to get hyped for next month’s Panama trip. All three I highly recommend.

Movies

A Reddit thread suggested an older John Cusack film called Gross Point Blank, about a depressed hitman who ends up going to his High School reunion while on a job. It was amazing. Horrible spy acting with the gun, great one liners, all in a perfect 90’s movie setting.

I also finally got to see Logan. I love X-23 as a character the moment she came on the scene in X-Men Evolution, so it was nice to see her again in this film. Here’s hoping we can get a X-23 follow up movie!

And I also saw Pirates of the Carribean: Dead Man Tell No Tells. I’m a little put off of Jonny Depp with the recent scandals, but this is one of the better POTC movies.

I really enjoyed this Goofy Movie recreation:

Food

I started Plated this month and really enjoyed it! I tried Blue Apron years ago, but didn’t like the recipes, but Plated’s are always a hit!
