Today is my birthday, and I’ve hit the “Big 3-0”. I wanted to look back at 30 of my favorite travel memories in my life, in no particular order:
- Fulfilling my dream of going to Egypt, seeing so many amazing tombs and temples
- Sitting alone in the temples of Abu Simbel and Karnak
- Climbing into and on top of a pyramid
- Wandering the Christmas Markets of Munich
- Seeing the castles of Germany
- Taking a haunted trolly/walking tour of Boston graveyards.
- Seeing as many museums as I could in Washington, DC
- Swimming with sharks in Belize
- Racing golf-carts on Caye Caulker
- Making Chocolate in Guatemala
- Going to the Canyon Ranch Spa in Las Vegas
- Snorkeling in St. John
- Getting lost trying to find Lake Placid
- Going Alone to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter
- Running with an Ewok and Lightsaber in Anaheim
- Seeing lots of sheep in Ireland
- Eating great food in San Francisco
- Seeing Trajan’s Column in Rome
- Wandering the Vatican museums
- The Epiphany Night in Rome
- Sleeping in during the heat of the day in Tucson
- Guiding my group in Tokyo to see the things I wanted to see
- Camping in Japan with the other Exchange students and telling ghost stories
- Mom getting her face smashed into cake in Mexico
- Seeing the ruins of a roman bath in Bath
- First trip abroad to Paris
- Walking the Champ de Elysee
- Being a set photographer on multiple music video shoots
- White Water Rafting in Costa Rica
- Swimming in a cenote, with dark catfish
