For my next adventure I will explore Mayan ruins and enjoy fabulous snorkeling in Central America.

My basic itinerary will be:

After a full day of travel I will arrive in Guatemala late at night.

I will spend 2 days in Antigua, Guatemala to explore the city. I plan on visiting many ruined churches, see a Coffee Plantation, see how Jade is made, and make my own Chocolate!

Then my tour with Gadventures will start and we’ll move onto Flores, Guatemala to explore the quaint and small island city on foot and by boat.

The next day we’ll move onto the ancient ruins of Tikal. These ruins are one of the largest centers of urban living in the pre-Colombian Mayan civilization. And my geeky side is proud to know this was used as the Rebel Base in the first Star Wars: A New Hope.

We will then move across the border into Belize and use San Ignacio is our base for the next two days. I don’t have firm plans for these days, but I have many options of what to do from seeing the amazing Actun Tunichil Muknal caves, horseback riding, cave tubing, hiking, or seeing more ruins.

Then we will move onto my favorite part and the reason I’m going on this tour: snorkeling! We’ll be staying on Caye Caulker in Belize for the next 3 days. I plan on snorkeling pretty much all of the days, and maybe try to find a night snorkel to go on!

We’ll then travel into Mexico to Playa del Carmen for the next two and a half days. I’ve been here before, so I haven’t made any firm plans this time. I wouldn’t mind seeing Tulum again, or snorkel the Xel-Ha park again. It would be fun to see a cenote, or visit Cozumel. Or maybe I’ll shop and then relax on the beach.

Then on that last half day I will head to the airport in Cancun and fly home, arriving the next day.
