Fall and Halloween is my favorite time of the year. So many fun activities! Early in the month I went to Dinos After Dark at the Denver Zoo and saw some amazing pumpkin carvings and dinosaurs! Then in the middle of the month I went to a haunted house with some co-workers. And of course, it wouldn't be Halloween without some kick ass costumes! This year I was Winifred Sanderson from Hocus Pocus! My backup costume was a Jurassic Park Labtech. Travel Missteps: Kayak Misadventure

By |October 23rd, 2017|Categories: Travel, Travel Missteps|Tags: , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , |0 Comments

I have a love/hate relationship with kayaking. My previous experience being swept out to sea in Mexico (hate) and then a clam lake kayaking in Costa Rica (love). So when the opportunity to kayak in Bocas del Toro, Panama I was excited to love it again (spoiler...no I did not love it.) I had had a lazy morning, mostly because I could tell I was starting to feel sick. So when I bumped into some of the group heading back out to kayak I joined them.  Kristy and Arianna had already kayaked that morning and they were excited to do it

Dinos After Dark at the Denver Zoo

By |October 19th, 2017|Categories: Attractions & Sights, Local, Travel|Tags: , , , , , , , , , |0 Comments

I had been meaning to see the Dinosaur Exhibit at the Denver Zoo for months. But never made it. So when I realized it was closing after Halloween I got myself in gear! I visited it at night, during the Dinos After Dark Halloween lights event. I'd highly recommend seeing it during this event. Throughout the zoo there are moving dinosaurs lit up with multi-colored lights. Some even make sounds! Here are some of my favorite photos: Closest thing to a Triceratops a Diabloceratops A volcano! I was amused at this one in front of "Bird World", its a utahraptor.

June was a busy month! First there were epic paintball battles! And then it was ladies' paint night with the girls! And then it was my trip to Panama.... Travel Panama has been on my wishlist for a while, as I heard they had great beaches and good snorkeling! I decided on a longer trip that also went to parts of Costa Rica I hadn't been to before. This was the first time I tried not to have everything planned and instead go with the flow! Highlights Going clubbing for the first time! Relaxing views like this one! And it

Travel Missteps: Ojo Rosa (Pink Eye)

I was already pretty miserable at this point in my Costa Rica/Panama trip. A few days before I had popped my eardrums badly, and was having hard with balance and hearing. The day after that I caught a nasty cold from keeping my room's AC down too low. So between the popping of my ears, the runny nose, and the drainage in my throat causing me to cough a lot, I didn't notice that my eyes are giving up on me too. To be fair, I wasn't using them all that much that day. The 5+ hour travel day from

Museum Monday: Numismatic Museum of Costa Rica

The Banco Central de Costa Rica has multiple museums in its subterranean location underneath the Plaza de la Cultura in San Jose, Costa Rica. On the ground level is the pair "museums" of Museo Numismático and Casa de Moneda (while deeper down is the Museo del Oro Precolombino). These top two museums features the historical use of currency in Costa Rica and its oldest pieces are from 1516. You'll see coins, banknotes, and tokens from private companies as well as proofs, dies, and a printing press. Here are a few from the collection: This interesting set with the die used to make them

Lush Products for Travel Review

Years ago, I stumbled upon this post on solid shampoo by Alex in Wonderland. As I read a lot of travel blogs, it was just one article among a sea of others. But later in 2015, as I planned my trip to Egypt, I was trying to figure out how to limit the amount of liquids that I'd take to Egypt. On previous trips to Costa Rica, Guatemala, Belize, and Mexico, I had either checked my main bag, or checked a smaller bag that only contained sunscreen. I didn't want to do that this time, so I started pouring through

May 2017 Recap

I didn't really do anything in May other than get ready for my June Panama trip. So here is a random dream I had: I had one of those stress-travel dreams (except I don't get that stressed, it's mostly, "wow this is not going well" plus it was all dreamland like where it wasn't like any normal trip.) At some point we finally board the plane. The guy next to me is telling me about his awesome bag (I had been IRL looking at bags before going to bed) he then points to this thing on top of his bag. This is

It's been almost 2 years since I went on an international trip. So I'm extremely excited to announce my next upcoming trip to Costa Rica and Panama! I've been to Costa Rica once before, so I won't spend that much time there this time. I'll be going on a bare-bones style trip, conducive to hanging out by the beach and hopefully a lot of snorkeling! Below is my projected Itinerary for my trip to Panama: Day 1 I'll head to Denver International Airport in the late hours. I was excited to try out my TSA Pre-Check, but now realize that lane will
