This is my travel diary of my trip to Egypt. It contains in detail my memories of what I did and saw. Sunday November 1, 2015 Egypt: Day 11, Part 2 – Unexpected Nile Shopping When we got back to the cruise ship, we had breakfast and talked about people's jobs. After this fortification, we had a group meeting to remind us of the time we should be near the Esna Lock. After a full morning, I decided to go back to the room and rest a bit. I found a towel elephant awaiting us! After resting for a while I thought

Travel Missteps: Dollywood

Have you ever been to a theme park and witnessed a malfunction or accident? Have you ever seen 3 in one day? I have. I don't really know how we ended up at Dollywood. We had traveled cross country for my sister's Odyssey of the Mind competition in Tennessee and on the way back decided to take it slow. I was allowed to pick the hotel we stopped at, and I picked one with a mini water park near Pigeon Forge. This is also near where Dollywood, Dolly Parton's theme park is, and so my parents suggested we go for

More Solid Travel Products!

By |August 24th, 2017|Categories: Product Review, Travel|Tags: , , , , , , , , , |0 Comments

Last time we spoke about Lush's solid shampoo, solid conditioner, and solid toothpaste. This week I want to share the other solid products I travel with to avoid traveling with liquids. Solid Sunscreen My all time favorite solid product discovery is solid sunscreen. I HATE sunscreen. I hate having to put it on, the feel of it on my skin. I hate it in general. And because of my fair skin, I need a lot of it. But Neutrogena's Solid Sunscreen is my lifesaver. I used this in Egypt and didn't get burn at all. I now use this as

Not much going on this month. I did get a new phone (my first in 4 years!) So that was exciting. But I was also sad to hear about Chester Bennington's death. I went to a Vikings exhibit at the Denver Museum of Nature and Science, and a Rockies game with my company. Here my team getting ready for the game: Recommended Reading Lili on the Loose So, there were a lot of Egypt posts this month. Usually I try to spread them out, but....I was tired this month, and so pulled up posts that were scheduled later in the

Museum Monday: Museum Aficionados of Reddit

By |August 21st, 2017|Categories: Museums, Resources, Travel|Tags: , |0 Comments

I love museums. Part of it stemmed from the fact that I didn't go to museums a lot as a child (or at least not as much as I would have liked!) And part of it was because for a period of time, I really really wanted to become a museum curator. But alas, one of those childhood dreams didn't come true. Instead, I like to visit as many museums as I can.  However, there aren't a lot of variety of museums in Colorado, so I often look at virtual collections. The easiest way to "curate" your own collection is

Souvenir Saturday: Butterbeer Mugs

By |August 19th, 2017|Categories: Souvenirs, Travel|Tags: , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , |1 Comment

At Universal Orlando, there are actually two types of Butterbeer mugs you can get. The original version (shown on the right) is found in the Hogsmeade section and is more of a stein shape. But if you head over to the Fountain of Fair Fortune at Diagon Alley, you'll find this mug with an elevated and curved shape. At either area you can get traditional Butterbeer, or my favorite the frozen kind! Souvenir Saturday is an every-other week series on the items that represent travel memories.

June was a busy month! First there were epic paintball battles! And then it was ladies' paint night with the girls! And then it was my trip to Panama.... Travel Panama has been on my wishlist for a while, as I heard they had great beaches and good snorkeling! I decided on a longer trip that also went to parts of Costa Rica I hadn't been to before. This was the first time I tried not to have everything planned and instead go with the flow! Highlights Going clubbing for the first time! Relaxing views like this one! And it
