Souvenir Saturday: Murano Glass

The small Venetian island of Murano is known for its fine glasswork. On a rainy New Year's Day I picked up these small quarter sized pieces of Murano glass that were created into necklaces as they were the cheapest "Murano Glass" I could afford. Museum Monday: Design of Star Wars Costumes

A few years ago the Denver Art Museum had a great exhibit called Star Wars: The Power of Costumes. In honor of the upcoming Star Wars Day I wanted to share some of the great designs and drawings that were displayed. My top favorite was this design of a shell like hairstyle for Padme. More early Padme designs, I like the bottom one of the one below, based on a victorian dress. Jet-lagged. Tired. One last layover before home. Store was about to close and I grabbed this. I hadn't been outside of the airport, but for some reason I had to have this for my collection. It was impulsive and stupid and every time I see it I wonder why I bothered. I have since been to North Carolina (but not the coast) at least I can say I have been there now! March 2019 Recap

I saw "The Play that Goes Wrong" which was hilarious and the amazing stage tech they displayed was perfectly used! This month I also dealt with a variety of health issues. Nothing like calling emergency services in a snowstorm and being told, yes you really should come in, but no sorry, you'll have to make your own way there. The state I was in meant I couldn't drive in, so I spent a lovely blizzardly day feeling like I was dying.
