I love fall. I’m usually planning a ton of activities including haunted houses. But obviously, this year had to stick to more outdoor pursuits.

For the first time I want to YA YA Orchard, a small apple orchard outside of Longmont, CO. I had heard about it for years but had no idea where it was.

I enjoyed walking and viewing their animals, including peacocks, hens, donkeys, and horses. It was such a lovely fall day.

That same day we then went on one of the last view of fall colors, going to Brainard Lake and doing an impromptu photo shoot.

Now I finally have a new photo for work! My last one was from…11 years ago in Ireland.

We also stopped and got gluten free Pizza in Nederland. And it was the only time I stepped foot into a restaurant, although we grabbed it to go. I did note the employees would pull down their masks to yell orders at each other, I was horrified.

Fun purchases this month were a Hocus Pocus Halloween mantle, a rower machine, Tessa got two new sweaters, and I bought some tiki books & mugs as a form of escapism.

Somehow I convinced my parents to go to an old Cemetary in Denver for a picnic lunch and to look at beautiful stain glass…in the mortuary.

While it was weird, I really enjoyed it. It was a beautiful fall day, and it was a fun socially distance activity. I mean everyone we were near was at least 6 feet away…underground.

Then we made Caramel Apples. I had been craving these and it strangely was one thing I couldn’t find a way to deliver gluten free versions to myself. Now I know how easy they are to make at home!

Sadly, fires still raged in Colorado tuning the sun a bleak orange at all times. I ended up buying two air filters as I was feeling sick from the ash.

I also voted early, and got a flu shot. And Tessa continues to love eating fall leaves.

I watched a few good shows such as Away and Enola Holmes and the Mandalorian started. I also watched a weird Hulaween Hocus Pocus “Reunion” Show which was just too bizarre and not funny.

I was also incredibly busy with work this month.

And finally, it was Halloween. This year we had two full moons this month, with one being on a warmish Saturday Halloween night. Drats COVID, this would have been a perfect ghost hunting night. Instead I had a little tarot card reading at home.
