The Denver Museum of Nature & Science has a wonderful temporary Dinosaur exhibit. Nearly all of the fossils displayed were new to me, so that was exciting. This exhibit features many recently discovered southern hemisphere dinosaurs.

What really wowed me was walking into the main room and seeing all of the massively large fossils. Every other place I’ve seen dinosaurs at, there was just one or two, and never a full room of them. So I just stood fascinated by these huge animals for a bit before going up and looking at the details. I’ll be posting follow up posts on the specific dinosaurs later.

The exhibit also does a good job of telling the story of Plate Tectonics, as well as highlighting small dinosaurs. There was even a microscope section to look at the fossils better, a microfossil sifter, and augmented reality around the larger specimens to see what they looked like with skin.

And an interactive fossil lab for some hands-on learning.

The exhibit runs from October 6th through January 15th at the Denver Museum of Nature & Science, 2001 Colorado Blvd, Denver 80205. The exhibit is included in the museum ticket price or member admission.
