I love Halloween and so October is a busy month for me. I often get Meetup.com groups to go to local Halloween activities, and one of my favorites is Zombie Paintball at Anderson Farms.

During the day, Anderson Farms is family fun during their Fall Festival. You can join a hayride to the Pumpkin Patch to pickup the perfect pumpkin. You can wander through the 30 acre corn maze. For children there are a variety of small rides like the mine cars or barrel train. There also is a petting zoo of farm animals or the adults can smash pumpkins with the Pumpkin Launcher. There also is a country store and plenty of food vendors.

But as night falls, the atmosphere changes. Lights turn on, and the scary comes out!

You can still do the Corn Maze, however it is advisable to bring a flashlight. (I did the maze once in the complete dark with a group of 15 people. It took us ages to get out!) There are campfire sites and you can roast marshmallows to make smores and you can warm up with some hot coco or hot cider.

The longstanding Halloween tradition is the Terror in the Corn, which starts off with a haunted hayride and then a chase through a haunted Ghost Town.

But a new Halloween favorite started a few years back, it is Zombie Paintball, which allows you to become a Zombie Hunter and shoot at Zombies. You ride in a wagon loaded with over 75 black-light paintballs and are taken through the corn to shoot at various sets and actors. (Rumor has it that it is rare for a Zombie to make it through the entire season, they get hit so much!) It is important to note that no one will be shooting back at you, and the entire hunting trip is on the shorter end. But I still always enjoy it.

If you go:

I recommend you get the combo pass to do the Fall Festival, Terror in the Corn, & Zombie Paintball. Check out this year’s prices for all activities here. It is faster to buy your tickets online than to wait in line when you get there.

Lines will get long as it gets closer to Halloween, and parking can be hard to come by. It is my recommendation to go as early as possible in the month to have an enjoyable experience and be able to do all actives.
