This fresco of a Roman villa in tondo (circular) is one of a pair on display at the Getty Villa. I love the detail of the man fishing off the pier and the gardens before the pillared hall. This decorated a Pompeiian villa and was likely painted between 52-79 AD. It would have been a very small part of a larger wall decoration.
