This month was a quiet month at home!

Lili on the Loose
I didn’t write much this month. I had grand plans to do so, but just didn’t have the energy. Thus most of my favorite posts this month are mostly photography related:
Other Blogs
I feel like other bloggers have been busy traveling and so there haven’t been as many articles that caught my inspiration. But here are the ones that I did enjoy:
- Math + Churros = delightfully funny (and craving inducing) post by The Everywhereist.
- Its Dogs on a Plane! Cuteness overload brought to you via Buzzfeed.
- A look at old Venetian Postcards via Mashable.
Books
Last month I watched the movie Everest, and I decided to pick up the book it is based on called Into Thin Air. It was well written and gave a lot more context to the movie. I recommend it.
I also started reading the Untold History of Westeros, a companion book to the GRRM Song of Fire and Ice series (Game of Thrones). Its written as if it was a old middle ages history book, with comments from the “authors”. It gives more insight into the past of this world, as well as expanding on what were minor references in the TV show. I love that the pages are made to looked aged!
Watchlist
TV
I discovered QI (Quite Interesting) a British Comedy Quiz show. I watched a lot on YouTube before most of the videos were taken down sadly. I also watched some more Dexter, and now am in the final season. I then started re-watching Game of Thrones which has taken a surprising amount of time.
Movies
I didn’t watch a lot of new movies this month. However the ones I did, I really enjoyed. Early in the month I watched Whisky Tango Foxtrot, which turned out to be an amazing non-comedy movie about reporters in Afghanistan. I highly recommend it. Next I watched Primal Fear on Netflix. I had known nothing about this movie, and if you don’t either GREAT. Just go and watch it. Don’t look anything up, it will spoil the movie for you. Just know this stars Richard Gere and a young Edward Norton. And then finally I saw Jason Bourne in theaters. I love the Bourne franchise and it was great to see him in action again!
Food
I decided to experiment with food I haven’t ever cooked with. This month it was bell peppers, pearl onions, and sausages which made a wonderful base for this sausage and vegetable soup.
Gaming
I did experiment with the Pokemon Go crazy. I had never played a Pokemon game before, and so didn’t have a lot of nostalgia for it. I’ll still sometimes play it while waiting for the bus, but it needs a lot of updates for it to really be a good game.
What’s Next
Not much planned for August. Bu I am already looking towards winter trip planning.
