This has been an amazing year more focused on travel! I had two very opposite business trips. The first, in the dead of winter, was to Toronto, Canada. I had just a little time to explore and so visited an aquarium & museum before a nasty snowstorm hit. The second work trip was to sunny Miami, FL in the heat of summer. This trip I had tons of bad luck and ended up just having a short time at the beach. And throughout this year I was busy preparing for my dream vacation to Egypt! Thankfully everything went smoothly and I enjoyed seeing so many temples, tombs, and pyramids!
Beyond my 3 trips, I also spent a lot more time on this blog! This is the first year since I started that I’ve consistently blogged (and kept my new years resolution)! In addition to continuing the every other week on the Travel Missteps and Souvenir Saturday series, I also started the Museum Monday and Travel Thursday series. I also occasionally did posts on Food & Drink Wednesdays and Local Tuesday!
In fact, I’ve written quite a few posts for 2016 to keep the momentum going! My resolution for next year is that there will be a re-design of the website to be less blog-y and more of an official website. Also keep an eye out for more Wayin visuals and new series (like Photo Friday)! I also want to make more of an effort to my social platforms specifically Facebook, Pinterest, Twitter, & Instagram.
In addition to Traveling and Travel Blogging, I started to explore my local area more. I started playing this location based game, Ingress, that requires you to walk around and explore your area to gain points. I also became a Google Local Guide to provide reviews of the new places I was visiting. I found works of art and parks I never knew existed!
So what does 2016 hold for me? Right now I have no upcoming plans for traveling. Egypt was an expensive trip, and I need to go back to saving before I can even think of another trip. Hopefully I’ll be able to swing another late fall trip somewhere! Beyond that I hope to get better at cooking and work out more. So 2016 is the year of becoming a more comprehensive adult!
