I had been seeing those “7 Day Black and White” posts on Facebook for a while, but didn’t feel artistic at the time. But as my business trip early in the month was coming up, I got inspired and decided to do it as well. Here are my 7 days of Black and White photography.
Day 1: Ornate Christmas Tree decorations at the Denver Christkindl Market
Day 2: I found one of the infamous Pink Doll’s heads that have been popping up around Denver in the last few years. This one is near Larimer Square.
Day 3: A Wandmaster at Olivander’s (Universal Studios Hollywood). (The FaceBook rules said no people…but in Art rules are made to be broken.)
Day 4: It’s A Small World Holiday Christmas lights at Disneyland.
Day 5: A lifesized Tracer statue (a video game character in Overwatch) at the Blizzard Entertainment cafeteria.
Day 6: Looking out the window on my flight home from California.
Day 7: A painter near my office in Denver, Colorado.
Two things that came out of this:
- I really enjoyed getting back into photography and figuring out good photos/compositions. I’ve missed doing that.
- I found out my phone has a lot of great built in editing. This made it really easy and gave me something to do while waiting in lines at the various theme parks.
I’m definitely going to be doing this again!
