This is my travel diary of my trip to Egypt. It contains in detail my memories of what I did and saw. Thursday October 29, 2015 Egypt: Day 8, Part 1 – Aswan Sunrise I awoke in the middle of the night around 1 AM. I was cold sleeping on top of the covers, and the bed was just too stiff. So I stood in the corridor looking out the window at the small towns and villages that we passed. I spied a few people walking the streets and watched them as the train moved past. This is my travel diary of my trip to Egypt. It contains in detail my memories of what I did and saw. Wednesday October 28, 2015 Egypt: Day 7, Part 2 – Treasures of the Egyptian Museum I napped and relaxed as we headed back to Cairo. Fireworks while camping. As I've written before, in the summer of 2004 I went to Japan through a Sister Cities student exchange.  The bulk of the trip was spent with a host family in Chino, Nagano Prefecture.  This period in late August is during the Obon festival where Japanese honor the spirits of their ancestors. Its sort of like if you combine the American aspect of Thanksgiving where everyone goes home, Mexican Dia de los Muertos, and every possible firework related holiday. There are many components of the Obon festival. One key piece is the Bon Odori dance, that is danced by

Travel is all about the journey and sometimes that journey is unexpected. In December 2011 I was traveling through Germany with my family.  I am the navigator in my family, it is my duty to plan out all methods of travel to make sure we get where we need to go. After spending Christmas in Munich we were making our way to the Medieval town of Rothenburg ob der Tauber by train. Our first train was packed and so we had to spread out. My mother sat next to an old German woman who spoke quick German to my very confused
