Changes in Hotel Security Policies
In December 2017, I did a lot of traveling. Anaheim, Charlotte, and Santa Fe. One common theme I found was the new security systems in place in the wake of October 2017's Las Vegas Shooter situation. Now, in many hotels staff are required to enter hotel rooms once a day, regardless of the guest's wishes. It started at the Hilton Anaheim. 2017 Year in Review
2017 was a busy year for me. I got in 4 trips, 175 blog posts, and lots and lots of Netflix. Here are my highlights for the year: Travel All my trips this year were really last minute (at least to me) trips. I booked my Costa Rica/Panama trip about 2 months in advance, my LA/Anaheim/Irvine trip was very quick, same with Charlotte, and Santa Fe, NM I only planned one activity. I had been seeing those "7 Day Black and White" posts on Facebook for a while, but didn't feel artistic at the time. Holidays at Trader Sam’s Disney’s Tiki Bar
One thing on my Disney Bucketlist was to visit the infamous Trader Sam's Tiki Bar and my business trip earlier in the month let me check this off my list! Because it was early December the Tiki bar was transformed with holiday decorations. I was lucky to get a seat inside. It's first-come-first-served and a seat yourself situation. After waiting around for 5 minutes, a bunch of us were able to do some shuffling. National Ugly Sweater Day – Dinos & Disney
Today is National Ugly Sweater Day, so I wanted to share my Ugly Sweater: Dinosaurs wearing Santa Hats! I wore it on my most recent trip to Disneyland, and everyone was commenting and asking where I got it. Mickey and Minnie were also very excited to see it! Both pantomimed what a T-Rex looks like to show they were excited about dinosaurs!

Today is my birthday, and I've hit the "Big 3-0". Souvenir Saturday: A Weapon for a More Civilized Age
I've written before about my dash through Disneyland, but wanted to show you the awesome lightsaber I built! This is the lightsaber when its "retracted". There is a button that activates the sound and light, and you kind of just throw it upwards to make the lightsaber come fully out. I picked purple as its my favorite color! After you select the base hilt (and if you wanted a double bladed lightsaber) you then select the color, and then select the various hilt customizers. Travel Missteps: Disney Dash
In February 2010 I had already had a busy travel month by getting delayed twice in St. John, and once I arrived home I only had a few days to pack and get ready for a work trip to Anaheim, CA.
