This was a slow month. We still had some major snowstorms and hail. I also went to a Gluten Free Food festival and had a blast. Found a lot of new products to try out! Recommended Reading Lili on the Loose My favorite post of the month: Han Solo in Carbonite Lunch Box. Other Blogs Top two articles I read were these churches in Rome, and this great article a college friend, Becky, wrote on a Van Gogh Exhibit. April 2019 Recap

I spent most of the month in and out of doctors appointments trying to figure out what was wrong. We did find it out, but it took a while. Beyond that I had a work trip to Atlanta, Georiga. I didn't get to do anything fun outside of work, mostly because the only free night, the hotel I was staying at gave me food poisoning and I spent the entire afternoon/night being sick. BOO. I really wanted to go to the famous Aquarium there, but alas it wasn't meant to be. Recommended Reading Lili on the Loose My favorite post

Souvenir Saturday: Murano Glass

The small Venetian island of Murano is known for its fine glasswork. On a rainy New Year's Day I picked up these small quarter sized pieces of Murano glass that were created into necklaces as they were the cheapest "Murano Glass" I could afford. Souvenir Saturday is an every-other week series on the items that represent travel memories.

Museum Monday: Design of Star Wars Costumes

A few years ago the Denver Art Museum had a great exhibit called Star Wars: The Power of Costumes. In honor of the upcoming Star Wars Day I wanted to share some of the great designs and drawings that were displayed. My top favorite was this design of a shell like hairstyle for Padme. More early Padme designs, I like the bottom one of the one below, based on a victorian dress. This design was actually created by George Lucas himself, and the museum did a good job showcasing the materials used to make the costumes. Another unused design, this proves

Souvenir Saturday: Why Did I Buy This?

By |April 13th, 2019|Categories: Souvenirs, Travel|Tags: , , , , , , |0 Comments

Jet-lagged. Tired. One last layover before home. Store was about to close and I grabbed this. I hadn't been outside of the airport, but for some reason I had to have this for my collection. It was impulsive and stupid and every time I see it I wonder why I bothered. I have since been to North Carolina (but not the coast) at least I can say I have been there now! Souvenir Saturday is an every-other week series on the items that represent travel memories.
