The month of April was a lot more low-key than March. I didn’t travel anywhere this month, although I came very close to booking a trip to Jordan, but I decided to hold off until I can sort out some finances before I commit to anything.

Lili on the Loose

A lot of my favorite posts this month are heavy in photography.

  • Gondola Ride in Venice, Italy – This was a fun New Years Day, where it was rainy and snowy so no one else was out on the water. Cold and Magical.
  • Philae: the Temple on the Water – Continuing the water theme, I really enjoyed seeing Trajan’s Kiosk from the water of the Nile. I also was excited to find an old photo of before the temple was moved to its current location, to save it from flooding.
  • Horseback Riding Red Rock Canyon, Nevada – I was so excited last month to get out of Las Vegas, and this horseback riding trip was amazing!
  • Travel Missteps: Minutes in Pompeii – I had written and saved photos for this post a long time ago, but had shelved it as I wanted to figure out a nice gallery to display the photos. Well never figured it out, so finally posted it.

Other Blogs

Last month I had to pair down all of the great blogs I had read. This month it seemed a bit easier:

  • When the Photography Gods Don’t Smile Upon You – Adventurous Kate – I loved this post. It reminds me of my Travel Missteps series and is so spot on. Some days travel isn’t that glamorous, and some days you just get shit weather that ruins your photos.
  • Top 7 Mistakes and How to Avoid Them – Rick Steves – Another great example of Travel Missteps, this time advice from one of the most recognizable sources.

In addition, it seemed the moment I started thinking about a trip to Jordan, EVERYONE in travel blogging came out with posts about the country!

Books

I go through periods where I love to read, and others where I’m a less attentive. This month I didn’t reach much, mostly just listened to music on my daily bus rides.

WatchList

TV

This month was mostly just watching shows that returned for the fall lineup. Looking forward for Game of Thrones the next few months!

All hail Khaleesi, Ruler of Westeros!

Movies

Also wasn’t big into watching many movies this month either. I did ended up catching DeadPool which was hilarious!

Gaming

I also didn’t at all this month. I honestly couldn’t tell you what I did with my time this month.

Food

I wasn’t great about cooking good healthy food this month, other than my delicious Moroccan Honey-Orange Chicken.

What’s Next in May

I hope to see two museum exhibits in Denver this month. Robots at DMNS and Samurai at DAM. I also will likely do a short trip later in the month to Santa Fe, NM.
